The information mark on the instrument is a pattern of dots that is a unique identification number for that instrument. The mark is made by a machine making a small dimple in the surface of the instrument with a stylus. It is quick and easy to do and the mark will last the life of the instrument. The mark does not damage the instrument and does not affect the decontamination process.
The Matrix Marking reader is designed for reading codes on instruments. It has a built in display so that if you can see the code on the screen it will automatically read. This makes the reading very quick and very easy to do. There is an audible tone when the code has been read.
